Dr. Cornelia Oedekoven

My research interests are in developing and applying methods for quantitative assessment of wildlife populations:

  • Estimating abundance: how many are there?

  • Survey design: how do I count them?

  • Animal movement: where do they go?

  • Human impact: how are we affecting them?

I also do a bit of field work collecting data at sea:

  • Line transect surveys for marine mammals

    • Visual and acoustic

  • Oceanographic surveys

  • Strip transect surveys for seabirds
